St. Mary's Religious Education Program presently serves 531 students, Kindergarten through 8th grade.

Religious Educations class are held after school on Wednesday as follows:
Elementary School - Grades K-3^rd       3:15 -  4:25 p.m. Intermediate School - Grades 4th-5^th   3:10 -  4:15 p.m. Junior High School - Grades 6th-8^th    3:20 - 4:30 p.m.
They meet in the Minooka Public school buildings immediately after school.  We are extremely grateful to the public school system for allowing us to use their facilities. 

Classes start the first week in September and end just before Easter.

Children are required to participate at every grade level of religious education in order to appropriately prepare for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation.

Preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation begins in grade one, but more time is spent on its development and understanding in grade two. There is a group celebration of this sacrament in the winter.

Preparation for the Sacrament of Eucharist also begins in grade one and continues with greater intensity and emphasis in grade two. The celebration of First Communion is in the spring

Candidates for confirmation are required to enter into a two-year consecutive program. Preparation for confirmation requires the desire and serious reflection by the candidate, completion of a study program of basic Catholic doctrine previous to grade eight, and satisfactory involvement in and completion of the confirmation program.

For children who are new to our program and have not received the Sacrament of Baptism, Reconciliation, and/or Eucharist; or who are in the 8th grade or older and have not completed all levels of preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation, there are special sessions designed to meet their needs. Parents are asked to contact the Director of Religious Education so arrangements can be made.
