A new Parish Council was formed in 1995. It is a consultative board discerned from the parish at large. Their ministry is to work with the pastor on matters pertaining to spiritual, social, educational, financial and temporal affairs of St. Mary's Parish.
There are four standing commissions: Administration, Education, Service and Worship, representing the various parish organizations and ministries to facilitate the work of the Council.
Meetings are on the fourth Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the church hall.
If you are interested in joining a commission please contact the rectory at 815-467-2233

Worship Commission concerns itself with the actual celebrations of our faith-that they be as pleasing in all aspects as we can make them, and that they be both welcoming and participating experiences. Under the guidance of the worship commission are the Readers, Eucharistic Ministers, Ushers/Greeters, the Music Ministry, Altar Servers and the Ministers of Care. The Worship Commission is also responsible for the environment of the Church, a Parish retreat, Monthly Prayer, Taize Prayer, and a Children's Liturgy of the Word offered during 11:00 a.m. Mass.
